How long does it take to inflate a Stand Up Paddle Board with the MINT LAMA double action pump?
This depends on the volume of the board, so an exact time cannot be specified. With the MINT LAMA 1.8 L double action pump, it usually takes between 10 and 15 minutes, depending on your physical condition.
Initially, the double action function inflates the board faster. Once it gets tougher, the single action function is recommended.
If the warm-up before paddling feels too much, you can switch to an
electric pump. This can be powered by a battery or via the car's 12V outlet.
At what pressure should I inflate my Stand Up Paddle Board?
Most boards need to be inflated to 15 PSI, which is about 1 bar. The exact pressure required is usually indicated directly on the valve or in the user manual. We recommend inflating the MINT LAMA SUPs to 13/14 PSI, as good stability is already achieved with 13/14 PSI.
Important note: The board is designed for a maximum inflation pressure of 15 PSI. If the board is left in the sun for a long period, the pressure inside the board can rise significantly due to the heat. To avoid overstretching or cracks, it is strongly recommended to reduce the pressure. After sun exposure, the pressure can be increased again and the SUP can be used. When the board is in the water (even for extended periods), the water temperature reduces the risk of overstretching. Damage caused by overheating is not covered by the warranty.
Why is the gauge on my pump not moving?
The board needs a certain base volume of air/pressure before the gauge (pressure indicator) starts moving. This usually begins at around 7 PSI (= about 110 pump strokes). Therefore, the gauge is often not broken; it's simply that there isn’t enough pressure in the board.
Can I inflate other inflatable products with the MINT LAMA Double Action Pump?
Yes, the pump can also be used for other products such as inflatable kayaks or dinghies.
How can I activate or deactivate the double action function?
The mode can be switched using the dial on the pump: In double action mode, air is pumped both when pulling up and pushing down, while in single action mode, air is only pumped when pushing down.
Is the pump disassemblable for space-saving storage?
Yes, the hose can be removed, and the pump is compact enough for easy storage.
