The MINT LAMA Freebreath Kids Snorkeling Mask provides children with a safe and comfortable snorkeling experience. As the original full face snorkeling mask from Switzerland, it was specially developed for young underwater explorers as well. Thanks to the full face design, children can breathe naturally through both nose and mouth while discovering the underwater world with a clear panoramic view. Whether in the sea, in a lake or in a pool, the Freebreath Kids Snorkeling Mask ensures safety, comfort and maximum fun while snorkeling.
Advantages of the Freebreath Kids Snorkeling Mask
The large 180° panoramic visor made of shatter resistant polycarbonate offers a wide and clear underwater view. Children maintain full visibility at all times and can move safely in the water. A special anti fog system reduces lens fogging and ensures long lasting clear vision underwater.
Construction of the Freebreath Kids Snorkeling Mask
The Freebreath Kids Snorkeling Mask combines safety with easy handling. The automatic dry top valve closes automatically when submerged and protects against water entry. Three separate air channels ensure a constant supply of fresh air and make breathing underwater easier. Flexible and adjustable straps provide a secure fit and prevent uncomfortable pulling on the hair. An integrated drain valve allows easy removal of any water that enters the mask. The durable polycarbonate lens ensures long lasting performance, while the colored snorkel tip improves visibility in the water and adds extra safety.
The MINT LAMA Freebreath Kids Snorkeling Mask combines comfort, functionality and safety. Perfect for little underwater explorers!
From what age is the Freebreath Kids Snorkeling Mask suitable? The mask is generally suitable for children from about 5 years of age. It is important that the mask fits well and matches the child’s face shape.
What are the advantages of a MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkeling mask? When diving, breathing underwater with a traditional snorkel is often perceived as uncomfortable, as breathing through the mouth does not feel natural and the mouthpiece is often considered too large, uncomfortable and unhygienic. Thanks to the MINT LAMA Freebreath, a snorkel with a mouthpiece is not necessary. Simply put on the mask and breathe comfortably through your nose or mouth.
What is the difference between round glass and flat glass snorkeling masks? Viewing the underwater world at a 180° angle is truly unique, and both snorkeling masks offer this experience. The round glass mask has no edges within the field of vision. This allows for an even better underwater view compared to the flat glass mask. However, with the round glass version, the image is slightly distorted. Due to the curvature of the lens, a kind of magnifying effect occurs. This effect is comparable to that of an action camera, such as a GoPro. When the camera is held very close to an object, the object appears larger while the background appears smaller. This distortion may take some getting used to for certain swimmers.
With the flat glass version, there is no or only minimal distortion, similar to conventional masks. However, visibility is slightly influenced by two side edges. If you are still wondering whether to choose flat or round glass, experience shows that people who have been snorkeling for decades with conventional masks tend to prefer the flat glass mask. The distortion of the round glass can sometimes be perceived as disturbing by older users. The younger generation, who are used to the distortion of action cameras, generally do not find it disturbing. The round glass mask remains the clear favorite.
Can I also dive with the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkeling mask? Freediving is not recommended with this diving mask. The air volume inside the mask plays a greater role than with classic masks. After just a few meters of depth, the pressure on the face can feel uncomfortable. During diving, pressure equalization is very important, but this is not possible with this mask because the nose is not freely accessible. However, it is possible with our MINT LAMA Freebreath BALANCE and 2BREATH models.
Why can the lens fog up despite anti fog protection? As a rule, the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkeling mask does not fog up, as it features an anti fog system with a dual airflow design, similar to a ventilation system. The mask should be worn so that the mouth section made of silicone seals tightly against the bridge of the nose. Air from the lower mouth section should not enter the upper viewing area. Choosing the correct mask size plays a very important role. It may also help to wash the inside of the lens with dishwashing liquid.
How do I choose the right size? To make the best use of your MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkeling mask, it is important to choose the correct size. If the mask is too small, wearing comfort will be reduced. If it is too large, water may enter. The snorkeling mask is available in two sizes for adults. These sizes cover approximately 95% of male and female face shapes. However, every face is different, and the information provided should only serve as a guideline.
Size S/M: mainly for women and teenagers Size L/XL: mainly for men
A helpful way to choose the right size is to measure the distance between the eyes and the chin:

The MINT LAMA Freebreath mask is also available for CHILDREN in size XS. It is difficult to specify an exact age range, as children vary greatly in size. In general, children from about 5 years of age can wear the mask. A helpful way to choose the right size is to measure the distance between the eyes and the chin:

Can I wear the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkeling mask with a full beard? A short beard, for example 3 to 5 days of growth, is not a problem. However, with a full beard, the mask may not seal properly against the face, and there is a possibility that water could enter. We do not recommend purchasing the mask if you have a full beard.
Can I wear the Freebreath snorkel mask with glasses? No, the Freebreath snorkel mask cannot be worn over regular prescription glasses. However, the large panoramic visor provides very good visibility for many users even without glasses.
How do I clean the MINT LAMA Freebreath snorkeling mask? Detach the snorkel and rinse the mask thoroughly with fresh tap water after use, just like conventional snorkeling masks. Store it in a shaded place.
