Your child needs your support from the very first step. With the new Skinners Kids Line, you can help them to enjoy all the benefits of natural and original barefoot walking.
In contrast to sturdy shoes, walking in barefoot shoes trains the sense of balance, strengthens the muscles of the foot and fibula, prevents misalignments and promotes healthy posture. The cut-resistant sole protects small, sensitive feet at all times without having to support them. Your child will feel and sense all surfaces in complete freedom and discover the world anew with every step.
The ideal play companion, whether indoors or out in the fresh air. On the playground, in the forest, on the patio, in the nursery - wherever shoes are superfluous and socks offer too little protection.
Protects against cuts, whether on the lakeshore or in the water by the sea. Thanks to Skinners, even hot sand is no longer a problem for children's sensitive feet.
Which child wants to keep their shoes on when travelling? The ideal way to allow the feet full mobility on the train, bus, airport or aeroplane and thus activate the venous pump while being protected from dirt. Ideal for gymnastics, gymnastics, self-defence sports and many other sports. Highly flexible and non-slip sole, ideal for indoor and outdoor use.
Are Skinners socks or shoes?
Neither, and yet both. Skinners have combined the best of both worlds - the freedom of a sock and the protection of a shoe - into one elegant unit. Simply put, Skinners are a new kind of clothing.
Should I wear Skinners with or without socks?
To maximise comfort and ensure a longer-lasting feeling of freshness, we recommend wearing thin foot socks with Skinners. However, it is entirely up to you how you prefer to wear your Skinners.
The Skinners look delicate, don't they break quickly?
No, Skinners have designed them to last a long time. The sole material is very abrasion resistant. It's a seamless knit and there's no glue or anything that could come loose. Simply put, there is nothing that can break. You can just wear them off...
After how many kilometres are the skinners worn out?
This varies. It depends on the person, the weight and the surface on which the skinners are used. The same model has been worn for more than a year and it still runs well. But it very much depends on whether you are a guy who weighs 125kg and uses Skinners for running on the road or a 50kg girl who uses Skinners as spare shoes or just for running on soft surfaces. That's why we can't give a kilometre figure. However, experience shows that Skinners last longer than some expensive running shoes.
How does it feel to run with Skinners?
It's the same feeling as running barefoot. With the latest Skinners 2.0 you have an insole that offers more comfort and blunts sharp objects. However, you should train your muscles and tendons gradually to strengthen them. For surfaces that are too hard or dangerous environments where you would not normally run barefoot, we recommend wearing classic running shoes.
Are the Skinners waterproof or water resistant?
Whilst waterproof accessories form a complete barrier against water and do not allow a single drop to penetrate, waterproof clothing and footwear can only protect you from the wet to a certain extent. Skinners are partially waterproof, so if you step on wet grass, the sole will largely protect you from the moisture. However, it can happen that some water penetrates into the sock shoe.
Can I wash Skinners in the washing machine?
Yes, put the Skinners in a laundry bag and set the washing machine to a gentle washing programme (ideally 30 °C). We recommend turning them inside out carefully so that the fabrics are not damaged.
How environmentally friendly are the Skinners?
As Skinners are handmade in Europe in a family business, the legislation of the European Union is strictly adhered to. No toxic plasticisers are used, the compounds are completely free of phthalates and production waste is reduced to less than 1%. In short, neither people, animals nor the environment are harmed in the production of Skinners.
